One Stage. 15 Student Founders. $30K in prizes.
That was what was on the line at this year’s EMRG conference brought to you by Ramenworks. The day started off with two incredible talks. Ramenworks brought in Puja Samuel of New York Life Ventures, and Joshua Ness of Verizon 5G Labs, who did way more than just warm up the crowd. Once the talks had concluded, it was on to the main event.
For the next three hours, 15 student founders, representing their respective companies and startups, battled it out in the EMRG pitch-off. The proceedings were moderated by Kim Kaupe (Co-Founder The Superfan Company) and judged by Isabelle Phelps (Lerer Hippeau Ventures), Lisa Burton (Executive Director of HearstLab), and Allison Williams (Director of NVP Labs). They certainly had a tough call to make.
In the end, there could be only one winner. Nomadworks would like to give a huge congratulations to Formally, for taking first prize! Naturally, we would like to give a shout out to Zogo, and Healthhuddle, as the first and second runner-ups as well.
Who won the Nomadworks prize?
Speaking of Healthhuddle, we are very proud to announce them as the winner of the Nomadworks prize! Our Community Director James Leavy will be gifting Healthhuddle two free months of coworking here at Nomadworks. They will have access to our amazing community of professionals, all of our exciting events, and of course, all the coffee they can drink.
Healthhuddle, the NYU based startup, is bringing improvements to clinical communications through smart displays of a patient’s vital data, reducing the risk of medical error. Their system helps nurses, charge nurses, and quality managers make sure they are all on the same page, to ensure their patients are getting the care they need.
It was a great event, and we were beyond thrilled to be a part of it. Thank you to all the students who competed, we see a bright future ahead for all of you! If you’re interested, you can check out the full list of companies here.
As for you Healthhuddle, we can’t wait to see what you do here with us at Nomadworks! We are sure you’re going to blow us all away.
Nomadworks would also like to thank all of the other sponsors for the EMRG Conference. We were honored to be working with all of you!
